Life on the Island
Hatteras Island is a hidden jewel in the outer banks of North Carolina. It's a tropical paradise at the fraction of the cost. Still preserving the local establishments that give you that back home feeling.
Just across the way is the legendary Ocracoke Island notoriously known for Black Beard the Pirate's hideout. The family can enjoy a boat ride accompanied with Capt. Rom while enjoying the whole day without fear or... catch the ferry entering the island at your own risk.
For fishing fanatics, Hatteras sticks out like a sore thumb on the map. You are the closest to the Gulf Stream as it gets without going to Florida. Whether its trophy marlins or putting fish in the freezer, Hatteras has it all! If offshore doesn't ticker your fancy then inshore will certainly do. Float the flats in the Pamlico sound sight casting at schools of red fish. Chase down specks through the backwaters or ride searching for Cobia.
